AMERICA'S TWO GREAT PRESIDENTS

George Washington and Donald Trump present, in many ways, a stark study in contrast. However, in a number of significant ways there is much about these two men and their leadership of our country that has much in common. In fact, I doubt if there has been any other president since Washington who has had more in common with him than Donald Trump. I think future historians will be forced (however grudgingly or not) to recognize the greatness of leadership stature shared by these two men.

All of this of course is predicated on two interdependent and inseparable things. The first is whether or not President Trump will survive the hatred and incessant attacks made on his person and administration by the leftists in our government, media, educational, and other institutions. The second is whether of not our constitutional republic can survive the unprecedented clear and present danger it now faces from radical leftists determined to bring about the demise of America as we have known it; leftists, supported and emboldened by a generation and a half of the most dumbed down, selfish, godless and gullible people to ever live in this nation.

Now back to my premise relative to the comparative greatness of George Washington and Donald Trump. This is understood best when it is understood that America is now in the second of the two most epochal periods in our nation's history. The first involved whether or not we would win our Independence. George Washington was at the forefront during this period, providing the leadership that led to our becoming a sovereign nation; a nation whose citizenry would enjoy a system of self government unhhindered by governmental intrusion and oppression, and that would become the freest, strongest, most prosperous and God-conscious nation ever to exist in the history of nations.

George Washington had Tories and swamp creatures in the Continental Congress and in the military with which he had to contend. He also had large numbers of ignorant, indolent, indifferent and gullible people among the colonists who were, at the least, unsupportive of his and other patriot's efforts to win their independence. This he overcame, against all odds, because of his sacrificial commitment to the American cause. Referred to by his countrymen during and after his lifetime as the “Indispensable Man,” Washington was providentially used to secure for us: (1) a system of government intended to be of the people, by the people and for the people, and (2) the way of life that we have enjoyed throughout our history

President Donald Trump, far and away the most genuinely nonpolitical, non-establishment, citizen president that America has ever had, is in the forefront of the second most epochal period in our history in which we are in a struggle to regain and retain our existence as the freest, strongest, most prosperous and God-conscious nation ever to exist in the history of nations. Donald trump is presently exercising incomparable leadership in a winner-take-all struggle to regain and retain what Washington and other patriots made possible for us. While many millions of Americans understand this, many more millions need to wake up to this reality before it is too late.

It’s significant that Donald Trump has kept more promises made to the American people than all of the presidents before him ever kept. He has turned a busted economy into a historically booming economy, rebuilt our military, and is doing everything he can to restore respect for law and order within and (much to the chagrin of liberals and leftists) including our borders. All that could be added here would comprise a list too lengthy for inclusion in this article. In terms of his sheer competence and success in conducting business as President of the United States, whether one likes him personally or not, the facts are the facts, and it is what it is.

Two things ought to be of special significance to Christians. One is the fact that President Trump has championed religious liberty in bold and meaningful ways unlike any of his modern day predecessors. The other concerns his championship of the right of unborn and just-born babies to live. He has done more in this area than all of his predecessors put together since 1973 when Roe vrs. Wade brought a domestic holocaust into America; a continuing holocaust of government protected and supported infanticide with a death toll that far surpasses the atrocities committed by Nazi and communist regimes that murdered millions of their own citizens during the 20th century.

President Trump, like George Washington, has fought and continues to fight for America in spite of fierce opposition; opposition that in many ways is beyond anything Washington could have imagined. He has done the presidentially unprecedented things he has done while up to his waist, day after day, in the Washington D. C. swamp, and while under incessant attack by the now-exposed deep state and its minions embedded in national, state and local government. He has done these things in spite of the cultural Marxists who now control our media, educational system and entertainment industry, etc., etc. He is leading a resistance against a large and powerful leftist element intent on collapsing our economy, creating societal chaos and enflaming a spirit of un-Americanism everywhere they can in hopes of toppling our republic and replacing it with a Marxist-minded, elitist-run, totalitarian-type government that will micromanage every aspect of every American’s life.

No one should misconstrue what’s written here as a lock, stock and barrel endorsement and embracing of everything the current President has done, is doing, or might do. I am not like the proud Never-Trumpers whose minds are like concrete in that they are all mixed up and permanently set, and whose credo is, “My mind is made up, so don’t confuse me with facts.”

I’m aware, disapprove of, and denounce President Trump’s past and present sins and imperfections as much as I do my own or anyone else's. In the meantime, I recognize that it is my duty to pray for him, as well as for myself and others. Our President needs prayer every bit as much if not more than most people.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and

giving of thanks, be made for all men;

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet

and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of

the truth.

I am equally aware, disapprove of and denounce the moral failings (some as bad, some worse) of a great many who occupied the oval office before Donald Trump. Most all of these latter enjoyed one or both of two advantages that President Trump does not: (1) the advantage of a lack of technology which would have exposed them publicly and (2) a lack of a vicious hoard of enemies such asTrump has, driven by a maniacal sense of urgency to dispose of them.

Our current President’s style, “tone,” personality and moral track record no doubt leaves much to be desired when compared to the “Father of our country.” Nevertheless, in terms of courage, competency of leadership, love for America and legitimate concern for the welfare of the American people, I think a legitimate and positive comparison can easily and favorably be made relative to Presidents Washington and Trump.
