PASTORS AND OTHER CHRISTIANS — I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR THOUGHTS.

All indications are that we are on the verge of becoming a total police state here in America unless there is an intervention by God which would be totally undeserved by this nation. I would like your response, positive or negative, to the idea that some people have that pastors, especially here in America, have no business resisting (We are speaking of non-violent resistance of course), political attempts to overthrow our country, eliminate religious freedom, etc.

I think there is biblical justification as well as historical precedent for the position that pastors have a personal responsibility under God to be involved, whether it be through the education of their congregations via sermons, etc. and/ or their personal meeting with lawmakers and physical appearance at protest gatherings, etc. I may be wrong about any or all of this. I know that there are many good, sincere and intelligent believers who would disagree with me; I respect this difference, and am eager and willing to adjust any part of my own position if I can see that such is warranted.

This is a serious situation we are in, and many are trying to sort out just what exactly, our position, response, etc. as Christians should be. Myself included. Perhaps we can help one another with some good, shared thoughts based upon our understanding of Scripture and good common sense, etc.

I am sincerely interested in your thoughts, one way or another on this. You may post with a “reply” on this page or “message” one privately to me. I hope and expect and that all responses (public ones especially) will be worded as graciously as possible. Be assured that anyone messaging will not be quoted either privately or publicly by name.
