A FALLEN PRESS —AND SO, HERE WE ARE

Newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer (1847-1911) said: “Our Republic and its press will rise or fall together. An able, disinterested, public-spirited press, with trained intelligence to know the right and courage to do it, can preserve that public virtue without which popular government is a sham and a mockery. A cynical, mercenary, demagogic press will produce in time a people as base as itself. The power to mould the future of the Republic will be in the hands of the journalists of future generations.” Our “press” today is the counter opposite of what is described in Pulitzer’s second sentence, and the mirror image of what he described in his next two sentences.

Spiritually speaking, America’s mainstream media: printed, on line and on the air via radio and TV, is dominated literally by a lying spirit. I believe this is as factual and actual as anything could be. Only the existence and activity of the supernatural in terms of what is described in Eph. 6:12 can explain the volume, vileness and shameless intentionality of the uninterrupted, unending flow of lies that comes from the “news” media. People need to understand the overall significance of this spiritually and the immediate significance of it in terms of what is happening now in America.
