SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH AND LOW PLACES
What we are dealing with now in every part of American society is something beyond "flesh and blood" explanation. It is supernatural in terms of what is behind, and being manifested by, it. It needs to be thoroughly understood that ‘we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph. 6:12).
The “high places” spoken of here isn’t a reference to high places” politically speaking. This is a reference to the spiritual atmosphere of this world within and from which Satan, “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience,”along with his armies of demonic spirits now operates (Eph. 2:2). And this demonic influence has never had a more fertile field or a more welcoming human host to work with than it now has in at least half of those in political office throughout America today. Think of it: these are people who have made a career out of their stand against God and His Word and for the furtherance of infanticide and every kind of perversion imaginable.
“Spiritual wickedness” at work is the explanation for the mockery that has been made of Christianity in America and the murderous monster into which our government has morphed. “Flesh and blood” cannot deal with that which is not “flesh and blood.” The only people equipped to push back and overcome this evil are those who understand the truth in the prophet Zechariah’s word’s: “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty” (Zech. 4:6). “Push back” only in terms of flesh and blood will untimately amount to nothing. But when spiritual wickedness in high places is confronted by the power of Almighty God, it doesn't stand a chance.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14).
