WHAT ARE WE TO DO ABOUT WHAT THE DEVIL IS TRYING TO DO?

I’VE READ PROFUSELY ON THE SUBJECT, but am near the end of one of the best books I’ve ever read on the subject of communism, aka socialism. The title is The Devil and Karl Marx and the author is Dr. Paul Kengor. It’s a scholarly book of around 400 pages and well footnoted that deals thoroughly and interestingly with communism in terms of its origin, objectives and the way it operates. The main take-a-way is an understanding of how comprehensively diabolical this ideology and political system is. I wish every Christian, especially every pastor, would read it. Why? To help affirm, where affirmation might be needed, that effective resistance to this evil, now about to overtake our country, can only come from those who have the superior, supernatural, spiritual wherewithal to withstand and overcome it. This would be born again, Spirit indwelt, believers who can fast, pray, and find courage, strength and direction to do whatever else needs to be done to “stand against” what the devil is trying to do in America.

Since its founding in 1919 under the sponsorship of Soviet Russia, the Communist Party USA has worked relentlessly to infiltrate, dominate and destroy America’s culture, the American conscience and our institutions while recruiting a domestic enemy sufficient in size and strategically placed for the eventual seizure of our government and the enslavement of ourselves. And never, during this time have they wavered or been anything but confident of eventual success.

Alexander Trachtenberg, one of the highest ranking leaders in the CPUSA promised American communists in 1944 that, “When communism came to America it would come under the label of ‘progressive democracy. It will come in labels acceptable to the American people. When we get ready to take the United States, we will not take it under the label of communism; we will not take it under the label of socialism. These labels are unpleasant to the American people . . . We will take it under liberalism, under progressivism, under democracy. But take it we will.”

Four years ago our domestic enemies felt the time had come for them to “take” America. But they suffered a surprising setback with the election of Donald Trump. Since then, they have smelled enough fear in the public and have become sensible to enough corruption and weakness on the part of political office holders, Democrats and Republicans alike, to embolden them. Now we see them creating or capitalizing on any trouble they can, committing any crime they deem necessary — including the outright, outrageous stealing of a presidential election — to seize absolute control of our government and ourselves.

I don’t think it’s quite time for God’s people in America to be advising and coaching one another in how best to hide, hunker down and hope for the best under an communist system in America. I think it’s time to fast and pray; stand up, speak up, show up, pay up and do whatever else we can, while we can, to prevent Satan from having his way with our country. We should be assured and thankful our Almighty God is sovereignly on His throne, but we still have a duty to “stand against” the outworking of the “wiles of the devil” (Eph. 6:11).
