EXPERTS — WHY WE SHOULD TAKE WHAT THEY SAY WITH A BLOCK OF SALT AND REGARD ALL OF THEM WITH SUSPICIO
“Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”—Matt. 15:14
In the above verse, Jesus was warning against the leadership of the scribes and Pharisees; religious “experts” who were misleading people spiritually, but what He said should be kept in mind relative to all “experts.” The Covid-19 panic resulted mainly from wrong forecasts and recommendations by experts. Experts in every field have been right and experts have been wrong. Their opinions deserve respect, but not blind followship. Ronald Reagan had some homely advice that needs to be remembered; he said: “Trust, but verify.”
Winston Churchill once said, “Nothing would be more fatal than for the Government of States to get in the hands of experts. Expert knowledge is limited knowledge, and the unlimited ignorance of the plain man who knows where it hurts is a safer guide than any rigorous direction of a specialized character.” There are some “specialized characters” and not-so-expert “experts” right now that Americans need to stop blindly following before we find ourselves in a ditch too deep for us to get out of.
We now know that the early-on direction (based on flawed models and data) of medical “experts” have made the consequences of the coronavirus virus to our nation and people the horror story in progress that it is today. General Colin Powell once had this to say about about experts and their data: “Experts,” he said, “often possess more data than they do judgment.” How true this is, and how unfortunate it is for all of us. As a matter of fact, there is a virtual plethora of medical and scientific experts and data directly opposed to that involving people like Drs. Fauci and Birx.
As it turns out, we’d have been far better off had we never been subjected to the wisdom and data of the “experts” who’ve been in charge thus far; experts and data that created conditions that led immediately to a wider spread of the disease, and to an opportunity for politicians who are determined to not let this “crisis go to waste” in terms of furthering their progressive, socialist agenda for this country. Our experts-become-celebrities who are at the helm, with one eye on their bogus data and the other eye on the TV cameras have steered us far into a perfect storm wherein we are witnessing our economy being torn apart and our individual freedoms, one-by-one, being taken away.
Hardly anything now remains of the once robust economy, unique culture and freedom of the people England. In 2016 Michael Gove, a member of Parliament said, “I think the people of this country have had enough of experts with organizations with acronyms saying that they know what is best and getting it consistently wrong.”
I think a great many people in America have had enough of the experts who thus far have gotten it consistently wrong; who refuse to listen to and aid and abet the censoring opposing view and data of medical and scientific professionals; who perhaps more than anything else have created and are aiding in the permanent establishment of a “new normal” for Americans which will be nothing other than what has been the “old normal” for people living in socialist and communist countries.
