UNDERSTANDING THE POWERS THAT BE IN WASHINGTON DC

P. J. O’Rourke (1947-2022), an American satirist and journalist wrote, “Authority has always attracted the lowest elements in the human race. All through history mankind has been bullied by scum. Those who lord it over their fellows and toss commands in every direction and would boss the grass in the meadow about which way to bend in the wind are the most depraved kind of prostitutes. They will submit to any indignity, perform any vile act, do anything to achieve power.” This pretty much describes the present state of America’s federal government and the advocates of wokeism therein. Overall, they represent a small minority in this country. But a small minority of radical ideologues and the useful idiots they recruit have brought one nation after another under communist tyranny.

In 1 Timothy 2:1-4 we’re told to pray “for all that are in authority.” We need to pray fervently for those in for those in government—that the righteous and God-minded among them will be strengthened and that their counterparts will be removed from authority. America needs a miracle if our nation is to survive. Problem is that such a miracle is dependent of the terms of 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
