WHAT DO WE DO NOW?

American culture is becoming more and more anti-Christian. Agencies that keep track of such things have reported already this year that incidents  of violence against Bible believing churches, have increased 800% over the past six years,, and more than doubled in 2023. The explanation for this is the present administration’s top to bottom antagonism towards moral absolutes; an antagonism that now permeates all of our institutions, education, entertainment, media and military, etc., and society as a whole.

Tony Perkins, President of Family Research Council Tony Perkin’s correctly stated, "The Biden administration’s whole-of-government opposition to biblical morality is fomenting this environment of hostility toward churches.” Anti-Christian bias and discrimination is exploding throughout our society, seen in skyrocketing daily acts of hostility towards churches in the form of vandalism, shootings, bombings and attempted bombings, etc., and in the physical assault of Christians who peacefully protest such things as abortion and transgenderism are skyrocketing.

THE REASON for all this is more accurately explained in the Bible: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, and, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all nations that forget God” (2 Tim. 3:1-7; Ps. 9:17).

THE RESPONSE to all this is twofold for God’s people. We are to remain steadfast in our faith and stand against this evil: “Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Ps. 94:16; 1 Cor. 15:58). We also must maintain a proper perspective towards this evil, and our joy in spite of it: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” (Matt. 5:10-12; Neh. 8:10).
