SUBJECTIVE THINKING, A MENTAL KISS OF DEATH

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

—Prov. 14:12

Subjectivism is the belief that there is no such thing as external, objective or absolute truth; the doctrine that truth is determined by an individual according to his own experience and his own thinking. Reality for the subjective thinker is therefore fluid, flexible, plastic and moldable as circumstances may require. In other words, truth and error, right and wrong are whatever the subjective thinker decides that it is on a day-to-day, case-by-case, circumstance-by-circumstance basis. Think, relativism and situational ethics.

Subjective truth is the exact opposite of objective truth. Objective truth was in play when God said to Adam, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Gen. 2:17). Subjective truth was first introduced to the human race when Satan said to Eve, “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” and “Ye shall not surely die” (Gen. 3:1, 4), and thereby suggested to her that God’s objective, absolute truth was open to interpretation and subject to change.

It’s important to remember that the origin of subjective thinking was satanic, and within the context of the introduction of sin and death into the world. This explains the thinking that is behind and drives suicide, homicide, infanticide and genocide, etc. Subjective thinking was a trait shared by Hitler, Stalin, MaoTse Tung, Fidel Castro and all of their ilk; the kind of thinking that produced the death-by-their-own-communistic, socialist governments of over one hundred million innocent, non-combatant, citizens during the twentieth century.

Subjective thinking permeates the Communist Manifesto, the platform of the Democratic Party in America and the philosophy of political and social progressives and liberals. It is the mentality that energizes the Snowflake, Black Lives Matter, ANTIFA, the self-entitled millennial crowd and the concept of political correctness. It is the thinking that now predominates in statehouses, the courthouses, schoolhouses, many church houses and maybe even in your house.

Subjective thinking is at war with whatever and whoever it associates with absolute truth. This explains the current attitudes towards and attacks upon the Bible, the Constitution of the United States and the current President. This is why the goal of political and social progressives is (1) to discourage and criminalize objective thinking, and (2) to eliminate any recognition or recollection of the concept of absolute truth from America’s mental and physical landscape.

The subjective-thinking, truth-is-relevant, element is becoming more and more violent and clear in it’s demands that all objective thinkers and adherents to absolute truth recant and apologize for their positions, and embrace and celebrate subjectivism and its mindless and miserable agenda. This is why C. S. Lewis was right when he called subjectivism “The disease that will certainly end our species (and in my view, damn our souls) if it is not crushed; the fatal superstition that men can create values, that a community can shoose its “ideology” as men choose their clothes.”

There is a great need today in America for a revival of a pursuit, celebration, and insistence on truth – absolute truth and the objective thinking it makes possible. Only this will deliver us from the oppression of lies and culture of death we are experiencing now.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

—John 8:32
