THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO TODAY ISN’T TO DO SOMETHING TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY FROM DEMOCRAT/CO
Doing everything we can to prevent the imminent loss of our free government and personal liberty is tremendously important. We need to vote, write and call government officials, physically participate in protests against government tyranny and for freedom. But this isn’t one iota as important as your personally making sure that, beyond any shadow of doubt, you are prepared to meet God—that you’ve really received forgiveness for sin, and really put your life and your eternity into God’s hands and know that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.
There are a lot of counterfeits around today, but the biggest and worst counterfeit of all is counterfeit Christianity. There’s counterfeit conversion; the comfortable, convenient, costless, cutesy, consecration-free kind that can be customized in any number of ways to suit “religion customers.” But this kind of “conversion” won’t cleanse you of one sin or keep your soul out of hell.
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.
Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except
ye be reprobates?” (2 Cor. 13:5).
People have revised, reconstructed and retrofitted the message of salvation in all kinds of ways to suit their own or somebody else’s taste. But when we meet God face to face, there’s only one thing that will determine the genuineness of our salvation experience, and that’s whether or not our experience lines up perfectly with God’s definition of salvation as He has clearly presented it in His Word, the Bible.
Do you have the real thing? Don’t accept a substitute – not one of your own or anybody else’s. There are no “do-over” opportunities after death; no time to get it right if Jesus comes and finds you confidently trusting in a profession of faith that is nothing but a counterfeit. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Prov. 14:12).
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
—John 8:32
