HOW COMPLETE IS THE CANCELLING OUT OF CHRISTIANITY IN AMERICA, AND HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?
Did you know that BLM, ANTIFA, and the rest of the leftist mob want to cancel Christianity out of our culture. They’ve publicized their desire to do it. But I know something they may not know: a whole lot of people have been on the job and working like devils at this for a long time before either BLM or ANTIFA came along. These people are primarily responsible for the spiritual climate that has enabled Marxist “cancel Christianity culture warriors” to do what they’re doing now.
Who are these people who have laid the groundwork, paved the way, set the stage, for the “cancel Christianity culture warriors’ now on the scene? Who has done the prep work scrubbing out so much of what once was recognizable as biblical Christianity in America, while substituting counterfeits in its place? Havinng left the “cancel Christianity” culture warriors little more than a mopping up operation to perform, they ought to get some recognition. Problem is, they don’t even know who they are. Probably the “cancel Christianity culture warriors” don’t even know who they have to thank. But I know. And so do a lot of other people.
The trailblazers and miners and sappers for the “cancel Christianity culture warriors” are
professed Christians who are lovers of and conformers to this world (Rom. 12:1, 2). By “world” I refer to the world system within and over which Satan operates that has no place for Christ in it (2 Cor. 4:4; John 7:7), and its fads, fashions, aspirations, appetites, philosophies and practices that are contrary to the Spirit of holiness and God’s standards for Christian attitude and lifestyle that are set forth in the Scriptures. (See John 17:16; 1 John 2:15-17; James 4:4-10).
Worldly Christians have always been Satan’s servants and stooges (Rom. 6:16). They are the mixed multitude he’s used to corrupt America’s churches decade after decade until now they are the dominant presence in most churches. They promote worldliness and are antinomian to the core (Rom. 5:1, 2; Tit. 2:11, 12; Jude 4). They redefine terms and weaponize words to defend their worldliness; Christian liberty and grace is interpreted by them as a license to sin, and practical sanctification as something legalistic, oppressive and outdated. Instead of being anxious to do what even common sense would tell them that God would prefer in any given situation, they cut every corner and use any excuse to do what is consistent with their own worldly spirit. The devil uses worldly Christians more than anything else to quench and grieve the Holy Spirit out of churches. They are like the “little foxes that spoil the vines,” (Song of Sol. 2:15). They are like the “Dead flies” that “cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour” (Ecc. 10:1). They are like the “little leaven that leaveneth the whole lump” (Gal. 5:9). They knowingly or unknowingly, play the part of Benedict Arnold, Alger Hiss and Demas in churches, and are probably most responsible for the present insistence on, and the inclination towards, the cancellation of Christianity from our nation’s culture.
