CAN A PERSON BE A DEMOCRAT AND A CHRISTIAN?

To be clear, reference to “Democrats” here is limited to those who have at least a cursory understanding of the Democratic party platform—its policies, what it advocates and legislates for, etc.—and still support and identify with the Democrat Party.

Can a person be an informed Democrat and a real Christian at the same time? If a Christian could aid and abet the murder of babies, sex change operations for children (or anybody else), sympathize with the sodomite lifestyle and agenda, be against the enforcement of law and order, want to legalize theft through collectivist governmental policies, then, the answer would be “yes.” But the truthful answer is: No, a person cannot be an informed Democrat and a real Christian at the same time.

A Christian, born of and indwelt by the Holy Spirit (John 3:8; Rom. 8:9) couldn’t and wouldn’t support the above and scores of any of the other fiendish, heinous anti-Christian and anti-American policies and practices that are part and parcel of the Democrat Party. Claims otherwise are no different in terms of absurdity than those of biological men who insist that they are women.

The claim of any committed Democrat, Leftist or wokester to be a born again believer is false, foolish and potentially fatal in terms of where their soul will exist eternally. And, their great problem is not with what they do. The great problem concerns what they are.

Democrats, Leftists and wokesters are, along with the rest of mankind, people who have come into this world under the curse of sin (Ps. 51:5; Rom. 5:12). They are sinners destined for hell, for whom Jesus Christ died (Rom. 5:8); sinners that God wants brought into relationship with Himself through their “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21; John 3:16).

A person simply cannot be a born again believer and identify with and espouse what the Democrat Party is all about politically and ideologically. A person who is such a Democrat can be saved; multitudes of them have been and will be saved by exercising “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21). But no one who has genuinely experienced the new birth will continue to be identified with the Democratic Party or any part of the anti-Christian, anti-Bible Leftist or Woke movement. This is fairly well addressed in 1 Cor. 6:9-11:

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:

neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves

with mankind,

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the

kingdom of God.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified

in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

Unsaved Democrats and other like-minded Leftists, like all unsaved people, need desperately to forsake whatever sin and evil their fallen natures have caused them to embrace through the simultaneous act of “repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.” They need to exercise the God-given freedom of choice that will put them forever in the “such were some of you” category of people spoken of above, who have been washed from their sins, sanctified, and justified forever in the eyes of God.

The good news is that Democrats such as those described above can be saved and become Christians. Thousands of them have been, are being, and will be as they have personally exercised “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 20:21; 4:12).
