CAN CHRISTIANS AND PATRIOTS BE COMPLICIT OR COMFORTABLE WITH ANTI-CHRISTIAN, ANTI-AMERICAN AGENDA?

Walt Whitman (1819-1892) once wrote: “We had best look our times and lands searchingly in the face, like a physician diagnosing some deep disease.” Whitman was, himself, deeply diseased morally, but what he said, against the backdrop of the country and the times in which he lived, was true then and is true now

When we look at our “times and lands” today we find a striking similarity with God’s description of the nation of Judah: “From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment” (Isaiah 1:6). In verse four, God called attention to Judah’s putrid spiritual state with the question: “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? The spiritual state of America is presently in a state of unsoundness and purification. This has been, and is becoming, more and more evident. An example:

Over the last three years, the movers and shakers behind, and the players in, the entertainment industry (Disney being a prime example) and major League sports could not have demonstrated more clearly how unpatriotic, traitorous, treasonous and totally un-American they are inclined and ready to be. The same is true of much if not most of corporate America. Their overall embrace of and support for the LGBTQ sexual revolution of our society, including the physical and mental sexual corruption of children from the kindergarten to and through the university could not have been made clearer than they have made it.

Nonetheless, professed Christians and patriots all across this country are making it clear, however unintentionally, that they are “all in” and have “no problem” with any of these entities. How? Through theme park and stadium attendance, cinema ticket and music purchases, Facebook posts, and by becoming walking billboards in the “gear” they wear advertising their favorite brands and ball teams, etc.

The same is true of big corporations like NIKE and smaller ones like Starbucks coffee, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and hundreds more just like them with their in-our-faces anti-Christian and anti-American positions. Christians and patriots keep wearing their clothes, sucking down their coffee and ice cream; making it clear to one and all that these are their brands of choice in spite of the inherent shamefulness and senselessness of it all.

The question might be asked, “Where there is so much of this, in so many places, at so many levels, where do you start boycotting and defunding and where do you stop?” “Where do you start?” It’s easy to find places to start. The main thing is to get started somewhere. As to the “Where do you stop” question: There’s plenty of time to figure that out. Don’t get the cart before the horse. Remember, you can’t stop anywhere until you’ve first gotten started somewhere. Don’t wait until there’s a group to join; get started as an individual and as a family. Stop financially subsidizing and otherwise supporting people who are all out to wreck havoc on the Christian faith, individual freedom and your family’s future.
