CONFRONTING THIS CURRENT CULTURE OF LIES

In his book, Mein Kampf, written in 1925, Adolph Hitler wrote, “The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a great lie than to a small one . . . If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.” Those now in control of our government, and their propagandists in mainstream and social media believe this explicitly.

America is now one massive laboratory where the Democratic Party and the rest of the political left are demonstrating the veracity of what Hitler said. They are practicing the big lie formula on many fronts right now relative to a great many things; here are a few of their whoppers: “There was no fraud in the recent elections;” “Vaccinations are safe and should be immediately taken by everyone;” “It’s right that LGBTQ lifestyle is being taught positively in public schools;” “America has always been and is still guilty of systemic racism.” These are just a few of the big lies we are incessantly hammered with now 24-7, by every means possible. The biggest most dangerous lie is that God has no place in politics or the public square.

There’s a driving force behind all the lies being told by the movement, the media and “science falsely so-called” (2 Tim. 6:20). It's the same driving force that Jesus identified 2,000 years ago in John 8:44 when he said to certain liars-in-high-places, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Here we are told why liars-in-high-places lie, and the murder that goes hand-in-hand with these lies. Consider: leftist lies have led to the deaths of 50 million babies in America thus far, and a continuing body count of 4,000 babies killed daily via tax-funded abortion clinics. Thousands of deaths (given no attention by mainstream media) have been attributed to vaccination deemed by the government as being essential to all Americans.

Joseph Goebbels was Reich Minister of Propaganda for the Nazi Party. Concurring with Hitler, he said, “you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” Here’s something else he said that every preacher and Christian in America needs to remember: “The lie,” Goebbels said, “can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus, by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the state.” (Hence, the growing hostility of the left towards churches and the Gospel).

American politics, news sources, the culture in general and pulpits and pews in particular have been increasingly Truth-lite for decades. Maybe it’s too late for things to change where the first three of these are concerned; but it’s not too late for the latter to change. Notice needs to be served in church after church that Truth-lite pulpits aren’t acceptable, and neither is Truth-lite Christianity.

In the meantime, don’t believe, don’t give into, and don’t let yourself be desensitized by today’s barrage of lies. Remember: tens of millions of innocent men, women and children, including six million Jews, were murdered by Hitler's Nazis because too many people either believed, went along with or refused to resist their lies.
