THE GOVERNMENT OF GOD AND THE GOVERNMENT OF MEN

“So what is government? Very simply, it is an agency of coercion. Of course, there are other agencies of coercion – such as the Mafia. So to be more precise, government is the agency of coercion that has flags in front of its offices.” So wrote Harry Browne, 1996 and 2000 Libertarian Party candidate for U. S. President.

Browne was right about this, as were our Founding fathers, as have been all thinking Americans. Coercion by definition is, “the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threats.” Americans now, for all practical purposes live under and according to government coercion that decides what will be taken from our incomes, what we will or won’t be permitted to say, what will be injected into our bloodstreams by way of vaccination and what will be injected into our children’ minds by way of public (government) school indoctrination. This coercion also accounts for why who assumes political office is no longer a matter of election by the people, but of selection by a comparative few politicians, bureaucrats and ideologues.

The reason we are now in the clutches of a cruel and ill-intentioned coercive government is fundamentally a spiritual one. Any recovery or escape from coercive government will have to be spiritually generated and driven. Our hope is not in the House of Representatives or the Halls of Congress. Our only hope is intervention from Heaven. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”—2 Chron. 7:14.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth.”—Psalm 121:1, 2
