THERE IS NO 'I' IN TEAM, BUT . . . ';
'‘There is no ‘I’ in team.' These are words that express the spirit that has to exist where people share a common mission. Being mentally on the same page, and a certain amount of groupthink is indispensable to success in innumerable places in life — in a family or a church, on the battlefield or on a ball field. It's an inherent part of the kind of patriotism and love of country that necessary to the preservation our republic and our individual freedom.
But, while we're remembering that “There ISN'T an ‘I’ in team,” none of us should forget that there is an ‘I’ in independence, and in individuality, and in integrity. Those obsessed with the ideology and goals of the communist and the totalitarian want to coax, coerce and have us committed entirely to the ‘there is no ‘I’ in team' mindset and in the process lose our independence, our individuality, and our integrity.
When you and I are informed by and committed to God's truth as it is revealed in the Bible, we can be the kind of team player we need to be whereever teamwork is required — in a family, a church, the workplace or as a citizen, etc. But without a sense of our own personal identity, our sense of independence and our integrity we can make no useful contribution to our own lives or to anyone else's.
In. this day of big government, high tech, media, and social manipulation, we have to fight night and day mentally to resist the satanic and communistic agenda that would strip us of our individuality and compress us mentally and physically into being nothing more than part of the subservient herd. “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Rom. 13:1). “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus” (1 Pet. 1:13).
